Podenco Lurcher Cross for Re-Homing

Petra was found abandoned in the countryside as a 9 week old puppy. She was fastened inside an old vegetable crate and presumably left to die. She has been in our care ever since and poor Petra just seems to always get overlooked when people come to the shelter looking for a dog. |

Petra is a nice natured dog who gets on well with other dogs. She can get a little overwhelmed if too many large dogs are out at once. She is an affectionate dog who walks beautifully on a lead. This lovely dog has been with us far too long and really deserves a chance at a nice home life. |

Oscar |

Oscar is a male podenco cross. He was abandoned in the countryside as a very young puppy and has been in a foster home ever since. Unfortunately Oscar's fosterer is unable to keep him permanently so Oscar needs to find his forever home. |
| He is a Podenco/Braco cross and is a well behaved little boy. His recall is very good and he is house trained. Oscar gets on very well with other dogs and is very well socialised around humans. He is a typical puppy in that he is very happy go lucky and of a playful nature. |

Mari is a pretty Podenco cross/Lurcher type girl. She is a beautifully shaped hound with a lovely thick coat. Poor Mari is a very nervous girl and must go to a home with an experienced dog owner and with at least one other (confident, well socialised) dog. Mari gets on very well with other dogs but is very nervous of people due to not being socialised as a puppy. She slowly but surely gets better and we are convinced that away from kennels and in a home environment Mari would improve at a much faster rate. It is important to bear in mind that whilst Mari will improve in a home environment she is always going to be a nervous dog and timid with strangers. |
| Although frightened of most new experiences Mari does seem to cope quite well and seems to resign herself to "getting on with it" despite her apprehensions. Whoever homes Mari needs to be a special person that realises that life with Mari will not be a breeze but at the same time it will be most rewarding to watch this beautiful dog gain confidence. |

Mari loves to play with other dogs and she is a joy to watch when out playing in a group. She is a healthy, fit girl and has been bloodtested for Mediterranean diseases. She is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated. Mari will be able to travel to the UK in November 2008. Ready to travel to the UK : October/November 08 |

Alice is a lovely girl. She appeared outside the country home of an English couple looking like an absolute bag of bones. She has now gained weight and is looking beautiful. |

She loves other dogs and can live with cats. Alice is well behaved within the home and she is housetrained. She is a little afraid of being on a lead but her foster family are working on this with her. |
